Our handcarved chess sets are made by Indonesian craftsmen using the finest materials . As each set is handmade it is a unique work of art . We have a number of standard designs , some of which are shown in our selection below. We are also able to offer customised sets if required .
Each board measures about 50cm x 50cm x 6cm when flat and folds in half to form an elegant storage box when the set is not in use . The inside of the board is lined with silk and the board is finished with brass fittings . The chess pieces are felted and , due to the density of the wood , have a lovely "heavy" feel.
